Is the course updated for MOSAIC rule changes?
Yes. In late 2025, the FAA set fourth a new set of rules for Sport Pilots and Light Sport Aircraft (LSA) called MOSAIC. The MOSAIC rules expand Sport Pilot privileges and allows them to fly a larger variety of aircraft by changing the LSA limits from weight based to performance based. The entire course is consistent with these new rules and include all details you may be tested on.

How long does it take to finish the course?
The checkride prep course takes as long as you need to prepare for your checkride. If you are rusty on a lot of the content from ground school than it will take you longer than if the content was fresh. But it usually takes students 2-3 weeks to get through the content and prep fully for their checkride.
What subjects are taught in the course?
The Part Time Pilot Checkride Prep course starts with lessons on exactly what to expect from start to finish the day of your checkride. Then, it goes into step by step how to plan your cross-country scenario given to you by your examiner. After that, it reviews all ground subjects that you can be tested on during the Oral exam of the checkride. Throughout each of the lessons are situational based questions (and their answers) that examiners love to ask during checkride oral exams (over 200 of them).
